Are you mental?!?!

Psalm 53

1The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.
2God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God.
3Every one of them is gone back: they are altogether become filthy; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
4Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge? who eat up my people as they eat bread: they have not called upon God.
5There were they in great fear, where no fear was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee: thou hast put them to shame, because God hath despised them.
6Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad.

I love verses 2-4...
God looks down to see if anyone is righteous... If there is anyone that loves Him with their whole heart... and seek Him diligently... and He comes to the conclusion...

there is none that doeth good... they return to their sins...

(I love this next part) Have they no knowledge? (what are they stupid?) How ignorant is it to return to your sins?!?!

Now, notice the next statment: "they have not called on God..." When we fall into sin it is from a lack of communion with God... When we are in constant communion with the Father... we don't sin... but the times that we fall are the times we "hang-up" on God, or give Him an "I'll BRB..."

They were in great fear, where no fear was...
The verse that comes to my mind is: the righteous are bold as a lion...

As Christians we are never supposed to feel shame or fear... the only reason to feel these emotions is because we are sinning... or we are ashamed of Christ (sinning!) We should never feel the need to hide something... Daniel prayed at his window even though he knew the penalty was the lions den.

Verse 6 is a triumphant verse... and I think it is talking about the rapture... or just referring to the deliverence of the Israelites... I don't know if this was written during a time of captivity...

Anyways keep living for Christ... and if you are reading this blog, I probably know you. so...

"Praying for you!!!"

John

PS. You all know this but this is just for the sake of updating it to my blog... Chris has recovered!! Our merciful Father has restored him back!!
